Summit Racing Equipment becomes title sponsor of NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League


NHRA officials announced that Summit Racing Equipment has been named the title sponsor of the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League, an entry-level series for kids ages 8 to 17.

In the multiyear agreement, Summit Racing Equipment, a national leader in direct marketing of auto racing parts and equipment, will have the exclusive right to market and promote the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, effective immediately.

William Roberts is Dead-On for $20K Payday; Alford Continues Fall Domination

Jacksonville, N.C. - The $20,000 Footbrake Thanksgiving Tradition continued with the Fall Footbrake Frenzy IV at Coastal Plains Dragway, November 23-24, 2012, hosted by Michael Beard and Anthony Walton of Loose Rocker Promotions.  The country's highest-paying Footbrake race awarded the $20,000 check to William Roberts, while Richard Alford bookended the weekend's $5K's.  In addition to the three main racing events, many racers shared in over $5,000 in other cash and prizes, plus a Friday night Racer Appreciation Barbecue and Cornhole Tournament, plus coffee and Bojangle's biscuits Saturday morning.


Scotty Richardson Launches "All New" SchooledbyScotty.com


Scotty Richardson has launched a new website for his on-line drag racing school.  SchooledbyScotty.com has revamped the entire site from top to bottom to make it easier for members to navigate and more informative for everyone.

Scotty has some new features that are second to none.  He has incorporated Live Video Chat with his members at least once a week at a pre-determined time.

NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Returns for 12th Season in 2013


GLENDORA, Calif. --The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will return for its 12th season with 45 events taking place across the United States during the 2013 racing season. Three double events, two events taking place during the course of the weekend and the return to Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, will highlight the rich and diverse schedule. The 2013 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season will kick-off at Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville in February and will conclude at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November.

Track Champions Crowned at Firebird Year-End Banquet

BOISE, Idaho --The 45th edition of the Firebird Awards Banquet officially brought the 2012 NHRA Drag Racing Season to a close on Saturday night, November 17th. Staged in the Ballroom of The Riverside Hotel in Boise, the Banquet featured an evening packed with awards, which included upwards of $15,000 in cash and prizes.

Voted on by his peers, Mark Kidd, Twin Falls, was awarded Bracket Racer of the Year. Kidd also won the Pro Track Championship. Sweeping honors for "Lady Driver of the Year" was Tessa Lancaster, Ontario, Ore., who also earned the Street Truck year-end title.

Tommy Phillips Scores Rare Double Victory at AAA Texas NHRA Nationals

Ennis, TX: If asked just two months ago about his 2012 season, longtime NHRA Lucas Oil Series standout Tommy Phillips would have politely shared a tale of what, by his lofty standards, had been a subpar season.  The humble Texan would have likely left out a pair of national event runner-up finishes (Super Comp in Pomona, CA and Super Gas in Chicago, IL), participating in the annual JEGS All-Stars competition, and his top-ten standing in the NHRA Lucas Oil points chase.  He would have explained that he simply hadn’t enjoyed a stellar season and left it at that.   How quickly things can change.
